So you slept with makeup on... It could have been because you spent the night somewhere unexpected, you accidentally fell asleep or any other excuse you can find.
Don’t panic. Your cleansing routine just suffered a little hiccup, it happens to all of us. I fall asleep with makeup on more often than I would like to admit so I have come up with a foolproof way to properly cleanse your face of last nights makeup and hopefully prevent your skin from breaking out.
Step One
Wipe off your remaining makeup with a makeup wipe. This will remove the bulk of your makeup.
Step Two
Step Two
Cleanse your face with a foaming face wash. This will get off any makeup left behind by your makeup wipe.
Step Three
Use a facial scrub to really get the dirt out of your pores. Facial scrubs should be used about twice a week because they can be harsh on your face.
Step Four
Use a non-alcohol based toner to really get the last bit of dirt out of your pores and balance out the oils on your face.
Step Five
Hydrate your face with a moisturizer to give life back to your skin.
Other Tips
Stay hydrated with plenty of water.
Use a spot treatment if you’re already breaking out (don’t use toothpaste as it can dry your skin).
Try to avoid makeup for 24 hours but if you can’t, do a minimal look.
And there you have it! My foolproof way to properly cleanse your face after you accidentally slept with makeup on.
